Sell vintage wine held in bond.
If you are considering selling fine wine, simply send us the key details, including the producer, vintage, case size, quantity and storage location. Our team will review the information and come back to you promptly with an indication of whether we can help. There is no cost and no obligation.
Selling in bond keeps it clean: the wine moves from your bond account to the buyer’s with duty and VAT still deferred and the provenance intact.

Want to buy wine in bond?
We source and sell vintage wine held in UK bonded warehouses. Tell us the producers, vintages, formats or budget you have in mind.
Send us the details of your wine.
Selling vintage wine in bond shouldn’t begin with a big valuation exercise. Send the details that matter and we’ll come back with a clear view — what we can place, and how.
-
01
Send the producer, vintage and case details
Producer, vintage, case size, quantity and storage location. Original cases, fill levels or storage history to hand? Even better — but don’t let missing paperwork hold you up.
-
02
We review what you have
Good wine, properly stored in bond — Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhône, top Italy and beyond. From a single case to a wider bonded holding.
-
03
We confirm whether we can buy it
If it’s a fit, we’ll confirm what we need and talk through the offer. If it isn’t, you’ll get an honest no — not a drawn-out chase.
How selling wine in bond works.
When wine is “in bond” it sits in an HMRC-approved warehouse with UK duty and VAT not yet applied. Selling it in bond means the case changes hands without ever leaving that storage.
- A clean transfer. The wine moves from your bond account to the buyer’s, without leaving the warehouse.
- Provenance is everything. Storage history, fill levels and original cases all shape what a holding is worth.
- Duty & VAT stay deferred. While the wine remains in bond, UK duty and VAT are not yet applied.
Tell us what you want to sell.
Start with what you know. We’ll ask for anything else if your wine looks like a fit — and everything you share stays private.
- Producer, vintage and case size
- Quantity and where it’s stored
- Original cases or condition notes, if you have them
Questions about selling wine in bond.
Do I need a full valuation before I get in touch?

What kind of wine is of interest?
Good wine, properly stored in bond — Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhône, top Italy and beyond, from a single case through to a wider bonded holding.
Does selling in bond involve duty or VAT?
While wine stays in bond, UK duty and VAT remain deferred, and selling in bond means the case moves from one bond account to another without leaving the warehouse. For your own position, take professional tax advice.
Can Bath Spa Capital advise me on returns or tax?
No. We do not provide financial, investment or tax advice. We help you place good vintage wine through a direct, private conversation — the decision is always yours.
